I FINALLY left Colombo the other day. My colleague and I took a brief afternoon trip to Moratuwa and Panadura, both suburbs of Colombo. I enjoyed getting out and about. It reminded me of the field trips I used to take in Bangladesh. I like being able to see glimpses of everyday life in Sri Lanka and it’s more difficult to do that in Colombo where we’re surrounded by the luxuries of modern grocery stores and nice restaurants.
