Last Sunday was another Poya, or Full Moon, Day. Each Poya Day is a public holiday, but this day fell on a Sunday, so no day off for Sri Lankans. At the end of the day I stumbled upon Victoria Park. There were hundreds of candles lighting the pathways and a monk chanting prayers. It was beautiful. And peaceful.
