I took a road trip this past weekend to the North so my next few posts will cover the past few days. It was my first chance to really get out of Colombo and I was glad to explore other cities in Sri Lanka, albeit quick explorations. Aside from the bumpy roads, it was a fun trip.
Our first stop was Kuruengala. Not much to see, but it has your token large Buddha statue and smiling kids. Question: how do people get those huge statues up these mountains? I’m not really sure because I don’t think they do it in pieces, do they?
