I drove to southeastern Sri Lanka for work last week. On the way we passed Udawalawe National Park. The road along this park was amazing. Apparently, my driver told me the road had only just been opened days before. While I’m not sure if that’s accurate, the road was nice and smooth with few cars, buses and tuk-tuks enabling us to speed along, taking occasional breaks to snap photos of the elephants.

Udawalawe Reservoir. It rained A LOT in Sri Lanka last week and this is historically a dry part of the country! The recent rains have caused major flooding problems in other parts of Sri Lanka.
I always love your posts and you capture the spirit of the people so well.
Thanks, Mom!
