I took a walk on Sunday and stumbled upon a little street around Beira Lake. It reminded me of being in Bangladesh. The street was small and narrow, with maybe 20 families living on it. They each have one, or maybe two, very small rooms, and share communal bathrooms and washing facilities in the middle of the street. My neighbors were friendly and didn’t mind me poking around their street. They were of course wondering why I’d be interested in them, but these are some of the only times I get to see how real people live since I usually remain sheltered in my expat life.
I love the smiles. They were so eager to have their pictures taken and loved looking at them on my camera. I also love the colors. So many in one tiny street.
